Conte japonais #58 – La roue tourne

Il y a bien longtemps, un moine du nom de Yukei parcourait tout le pays pour porter l’enseignement du Bouddha.

Toujours accompagné de ses deux fidèles suivants, l’homme visitait villes éloignées et hameaux lointains. La petite compagnie avait le coeur aventureux et avait ainsi exploré forêts et montagnes, ne perdant jamais courage ou foi.

Tard un après midi d’automne, Yukei et ses amis se trouvèrent près du volcan d’Adatara. Ils avaient cheminé tout le jour sans jamais croiser les cahutes d’un chasseur ou d’un bûcheron.

Once upon a time, there was a monk, known by the name of Yukei, who travelled across the whole country to share the Buddha’s words.

Followed by his two loyal retainers, the man had reached far away towns and remote hamlets. The little fellowship had adventurous hearts and had explored forests and mountains, never losing courage or faith.

One late autumn afternoon, Yukei and his friends found themselves near Adatara volcano. They had walked all day but had yet to cross any hunter or woodman’s sheds.
